This Privacy Policy explains how Eco (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Eco mobile app (the “App”). By using Eco, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in — for example with Google — we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from the sign-in provider. We use this to create and secure your account.
Your content
Eco is a voice-notes app. When you record, we collect the audio you record and the transcripts and summaries generated from it, along with related metadata such as titles, timestamps, and duration. This content is stored so you can access it across the app.
Subscription information
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and our subscription provider. We receive your subscription status and entitlement, but we do not collect or store your full payment card details.
Usage and device information
We collect limited analytics and diagnostic data — such as app events, feature usage, crash reports, device type, and operating system version — to keep Eco reliable and to improve it.
How we use your information
- To provide the App's core features: recording, transcription, and summarization.
- To create, authenticate, and secure your account.
- To process and manage your subscription.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the App.
- To communicate with you about your account or support requests.
How your content is processed
To produce transcripts and summaries, your audio and text may be processed by trusted third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf. These providers process your content only to deliver the feature and under contractual confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your recordings to train our own or third parties' models.
Sharing your information
We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run Eco — for authentication, cloud storage and hosting, AI transcription and summarization, subscription management, and analytics — under agreements that limit how they may use it.
- Legal and safety recipients, where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account and associated content, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your account and all associated recordings, transcripts, and summaries at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account inside the App. If you can no longer access the App, you can request deletion by email. Full instructions are on our account deletion page.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also delete your account at any time as described above.
Children
Eco is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including where our service providers operate. We take steps to protect your information consistent with this policy and applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
